CANINE TRAINING & SALES

GENETICALLY ADVANCED WORKING DOGS

Burns Group International Counterterrorism Training Center’s K9 Division specializes in professional canine training, and breeding world-class working military, private military company (PMC), conservation, border protection, law enforcement, personal protection, and sport dogs.

We believe that national security should not be outsourced and to produce the best working dogs possible, you must start with dogs with outstanding genetics that possess an almost unmanageable amount of drive, power, and courage for your breeding program, then raise the puppies with absolute commitment and attention to detail during the first 14-months of their lives. All our dogs come from the very finest European working bloodlines and are bred and born in the United States of America. We use only the highest quality dogs available and will only breed dogs that have passed the most rigorous health and temperament testing. Our puppy program prepares our pups for almost every possible environmental stress they will encounter in the line of duty, to ensure stability and performance.  Please take a look at our Breeding Program page for more information on our breeding program and purchasing one of our puppies.

Our expert canine trainers and instructors are required to complete 40 hours of continued education each year, which ensures we are constantly evolving as trainers and instructors and providing the best quality dogs and training available. Our instructors have been blessed to have trained with some of the very best working dog trainers and behaviorists in the industry, and it is our goal to share the knowledge we have learned with those who are truly interested in becoming better trainers, handlers, and owners. Our classes teach students mechanical skills and a thorough understanding of animal behavior which is essential to effectively and efficiently communicate with dogs in a way that is clear and concise. Several classes are currently available with more being developed each year. Click on each class’s page for a detailed description of the materials covered and to enroll.

Whether you are looking for “green dogs” for an in-house training program or a fully trained military, police, single-purpose, dual-purpose, multi-purpose, or personal protection canines, we offer a variety of world-class tactical canines and training programs to serve you, and we are happy to tailor a canines training and develop training programs to meet your agencies mission requirements. Both the dog and handler are trained to national standards in compliance with the most current case law. We offer the following types of tactical working canines to Military, Law Enforcement, Security, and Government organizations:

Single-Purpose Canines Price: Contact us

Used for one purpose only, for example locating explosives or narcotics (or in the case of combat tracking dogs, humans). Single-purpose dogs don’t need to be aggressive and can be all nose, no bite. Some single-purpose dogs might get naturally protective, but as most handlers of dogs like Labs will attest, they’re more likely to lick you to death. These dogs are trained to locate either drugs or explosives – never both. You don’t want to have to guess if your dog is alerting to a stash of heroin or a pressure-plate IED.

Dual-Purpose Canines Price: Contact us

Dual-Purpose Canines do both patrol work (protection, aggression when needed) and detection work, along with some basic scouting. Scouting is the ability to track human scent through the air.

Multi-Purpose Canines Price: Contact us

Most often used by Special Operations personnel and O.G.A.’s, the Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) is extremely high-drive, confident, physically and mentally fit, and can do everything a Patrol Explosives Detection Dog can do, as well as to conduct assault, parachute, rappel, and or maritime operations, wear goggles, booties, helmets and specialized tactical equipment such as night-vision or infrared cameras, etc, and they are often trained to work silently via hand signals and lasers, and much more. MPC’s are extremely resilient, environmentally sound, and almost unflappable under extreme stress. No matter what your mission requires we can deliver the Multi-Purpose Canine that is well-balanced, reliable, and will easily integrate into your team and contribute to operational success.

SWAT/Special Operations Canines Price: Contact us

Both the dog and the handler are trained to national Law Enforcement, Department of Defense, or Department of State standards, and the curriculum can be tailored to meet your mission-specific requirements.

Patrol & Criminal Apprehension Canine Price: Contact us

Both the dog and handler are trained to national standards in compliance with the most current case law. Their control work includes a verbal out, calling off a suspect, and off-leash control around the decoy/suspect. In addition, the canine is trained to search buildings and outdoor areas to locate and apprehend suspects while off-leash which reduces the likelihood of violent interactions and officer-involved shootings by creating distance between the officers and the suspects. Our Patrol and Apprehension Canines are also trained to locate items that contain human scent and indicate their presence by laying down next to the item to help preserve evidentiary value. Price includes 20 hour handler education and integration program.

CIVILIAN CANINE TRAINING PROGRAMS

We provide a broad spectrum of professional canine training services in Wenatchee, WA, and the surrounding areas, including private and group lessons, as well as behavior modification, and specialized classes.

We have a reputation for diagnosing and resolving problematic dog behaviors including severe aggression or fear behaviors which many other trainers are unable or refuse to deal with.  To put it simply, we have fixed what others have claimed was unfixable. The highest compliment we can be paid is when clients choke up a little and tell us “You saved my dog!”

We work with all breeds and ages of dogs but specialize in dogs that other trainers consider difficult to train or impossible to rehabilitate and have successfully rehabilitated dogs that other “experts” have suggested be euthanized.  We help you understand what your dogs’ triggers are, why they are occurring, then through progressive behavior modification, we correct its undesirable behaviors and teach you how to maintain the desirable behaviors.  Our proven relationship-based, science and research-driven training philosophy help us achieve the best possible results for our clients and their dogs.

PRIVATE LESSONS

If you have the time to dedicate to your dog’s training to accomplish your goals, private lessons are a great way to get the training for your dog that you want. With our private lessons,  BGICTC’s trainers come to your home once per week for approximately one hour.  We begin by discussing your goals for your dog and develop a training program that will help you reach your goals.  Each week we review the skills from the previous lesson, assess your development, provide feedback and suggestions, and teach a new skill to develop for the following week’s lesson.   Our trainers will teach you to train and work with your own dog and will help you develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills to successfully develop a reliable, balance, and well-rounded dog.  That said, with private lessons, you are required to do your “homework” throughout the week to make sure that the dog’s training is progressing, and you will get the results that desire. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions. We offer the following private lessons:

BASIC ON-LEASH OBEDIENCE (6 WEEKS)                             Price:  $650

We take you through all the phases of training, learning, correcting, proofing, and maintenance phase to ensure that your dog will perform reliably. During this course, we will work with your dog in your home, go for walks in your neighborhood and teach you how to deal with the distractions of the environment in which you and your dog live.

Just like our Basic course, our advanced private lessons take you through all the phases of training, learning, correcting, proofing and maintenance, to ensure that your dog will perform reliably. Lessons will involve work with your dog in your home, go for in your neighborhood, and we teach you how to deal with the distractions of the environment in which you and your dog live. PRIVATE BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION PROGRAM (6 WEEKS)                                        Price:  $750

This course is customized to the needs of the client and dog and meets once a week for six weeks, however, depending on the severity of the issues it may take more than one six-week course to resolve the problem behaviors. Our Private Behavior Modification program can deal with issues such as housebreaking, biting, fighting, dominance aggression, fear aggression, resource guarding, dog-bullying, phobias, nuisance barking, separation anxiety, neuroticism, and destructive behaviors. Our trainers have years of experience in rehabilitating these types of behaviors in a variety of breeds and we are confident that we can find the solution you are looking for. We utilize proven, applied behavior analysis, scientific techniques, and sound operant conditioning principles to ensure that behavior problems are resolved in a safe and efficient way.

Observation and diagnosis are critical to understanding the behavior and cause, and the first crucial step in the successful rehabilitation of the dog is the first step to successful rehabilitation. No two dogs are alike, so we begin the process, we will conduct an initial evaluation and behavioral analysis interview to properly diagnose your dog’s issues and determine the root causes of the problems, from which a behavior modification program is then customized for each individual dog and their owner.

If you are experiencing behavior problems with your dog and have questions or want more information on our canine behavior modification programs, feel free to contact us.  Unfortunately, we cannot resolve your problems or diagnose behavior over the phone, but we will schedule a time to evaluate your dog free of charge. Based on this evaluation, we will be able to better suggest a dog behavior modification program that will get you the best results.
